Second Annual Courageous Truth Award

Nominations for Innocence Matters Second Annual Courageous Truth Award  are now CLOSED.
Thank you for all the nominations of extraordinary individuals who have courageously followed the truth wherever it led them, no matter how painful or inconvenient it might have been.  The Innocence Matters Board will hold a special meeting to choose which nominee will receive the award and will announce our decision on or about May 15. The 2012 recipient will be honored at our Courageous Truth Award ceremony, tentatively scheduled for June 15, 2012.  Event details will be posted here by May 15.

Selection Criteria

The ideal nominee for this award is someone who:

  • took extraordinary steps to fight for the truth;
  • in the face of significant opposition and/or pressure to conform;
  • which resulted in bringing us all closer to the truth; and
  • whose story inspires us all to be better people.

Intern Stephanie Cho is chairing our Courageous Truth Award and Hungry for Justice Planning Committees this year.
